SEMT two day Meeting 2005 |

SEMT Membership Membership is unrestricted and although mainly London based we have many members from further a field. For a newcomer to microscopy it provides a point of contact with others who can give support and encouragement as well as practical assistance. For those with more experience, it promotes co-operation and exchange of ideas as well as the opportunity to keep abreast of the latest developments in techniques and equipment. For our commercial colleagues it provides an excellent opportunity to advertise to a keenly interested audience and to obtain customer reaction directly. SEMT Meetings The committee organises an annual one-day meeting with a broad based content and a series of afternoon meetings often concentrating on a specialist topic. Our meetings are well attended and supported by manufacturers supplying information on the latest technology. They provide an economical and effective method of communication. Visits to laboratories of interest are arranged and sometimes an annual competition for beginners is organised. Forthcoming events are advertised in the 'Proceedings of the Royal Microscopical Society', 'Microscopy and Analysis' and on the web. The society also sends members a wall planner containing all relevant details.
